Every once in a while someone will do something that pisses me off. But usually I just have to grin and bear it, or mutter, or glare, or gesticulate silently. But every once in a while someone will provide me an opportunity to write an opinion. I relish those opportunities.
I used to work for the Interactive Learning Centers at UCSF. It's the primary student computing facility on campus. Now most of the students were down-to-earth, well-meaning people in the process of becoming doctors, pharmacists and nurses, but there were a few real assholes. A few of these assholes were stupid enough to leave us "suggestions" to which I felt compelled to publicly respond. My two all-time favorites are below.
